Slab rough ins have started on this longboat key home construction!
Rain slowed us down a little on this Longboat Key home construction as we filled the stem-wall but now that the fill is in place we are moving full ahead on slab rough ins. Slab rough ins are anything that needs to be put in place prior to the slab being poured.
This includes:
- Gas lines
- HVAC rough ins
- Plumbing rough ins
- Electrical
This all needs to be measured and placed carefully. The drain lines placed now for instance may be placed to come up within a wall so being off by even an inch or two can spell trouble. Luckily we’ve got great proactive systems which keep us on track as we rough in for our slabs. At the time of slab rough ins it’s important to understand plumbing fixture and appliance selections, we also do a final review with clients on floor receptacle locations. Once the rough ins are in place they are inspected and the trenches are filled and compacted. The soil is then poisoned and a layer of visqueen is laid. Before the concrete is poured the cantilevered edges of the slab need to be formed.
