PERRONE CONSTRUCTION HAS BROKEN GROUND on a 6,700-square-foot model luxury home in Bradenton on a one-plus-acre lakefront lot in the Parkstone Estates enclave in The Concession. Designed by Clifford M. Scholz Architects in a classic Georgian architectural style, the home will have five en-suite bedrooms and six bathrooms. It is expected to be completed in summer 2017.
FAULHABER FAB LAB MEMBER NICK O’DONNELL HAS RECEIVED THE GOVERNOR’S YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR AWARD for his innovatively designed home furnishings, like the Terraform Chair, shown here. O’Donnell, 23, uses his Fab Lab membership at the Suncoast Science Center in Sarasota to access 3D computer-aided design software, algorithmic modeling and laser-cutting equipment to create his products that are eventually shipped to homes around the world. A graduate of Florida State University’s College of Business in 2014, O’Donnell discovered the Fab Lab when he was seeking a location that supports young entrepreneurs and grants access to innovative equipment that start-ups like Terraform Design cannot afford. Now in its second year of inception, Terraform Design creates a variety of home products that sell from $139 to $4,500. The Terraform Chair and Paravlon Lamp have been featured in USA Today and The Wall Street Journal.
