Harold Bubil of the Sarasota Herald Tribune asks the question in this article titled “Hire Local Sarasota Architects, or Go Afar?” All things considered there is a lot to be said for hiring local architects, they understand local codes and building departments, they understand local aesthetics and sensibilities, they are close and available to meet on site to review conditions. Should this sway your decision? Maybe. When you boil it down the real reason most people hire an architect is because they see an alignment between their vision and the architects aesthetic sense. There are dozens of other things at play but without this one thing nothing else really matters. We suggest you give weight to our talented Sarasota architects but don’t be afraid to look elsewhere if your sensibilities don’t align. The important thing is to HIRE AN ARCHITECT!!!
