Sarasota Luxury Waterfront Home Builders
Built in 2011 on Bird Key, this home remains Sarasota’s largest LEED certified home at just over 8,200 square feet under air. Clad in limestone and having been built to the exceedingly stringent Miami Dade wind codes, this home feels like a beautiful fortress. The owners wanted a legacy home for their family and this home certainly delivers. It’s an Italianate villa that remains true to the root of its design and authenticity. The home is 75% clad in Syrian Ebla Limestone hand carved on site, the soffits and corbels are western red cedar with a deep rich stain. Inside the home the kitchen, family room and stairwell are clad in split-faced Texas limestone. There is a large home theater, a wine cellar, a craft room and a library. Custom woodworking adorns the interior, of course all of which is FSC certified.
Simply referred to as the “Palm House” by its owners, it has been recognized this time not for its design or size, but for its environmentally conscious attributes. The Florida Green Building Coalition, FGBC for short has featured the home on its project spotlight for those thinking about going green to learn more about green luxury home construction. In addition to its LEED Silver rating it received several other awards and certifications including the Aurora Award for design, an Emerald rating under the National Green Building Standard, a Platinum rating from the FGBC, a Gold rating for water conservation and an Energy Star certification. Cumulatively, these awards say that this Sarasota home is big, beautiful and green.
